Just Thinkin'

Hi, Denielle here with another random blog for you. Jon's blogs are always well written, thought out, eloquent, interesting, etc. Mine are usually quite scatterbrained. :) But, in spite of that, I'll just blog anyway and let you know what we've been up to.

Jon thinks that the second and third sentences in the above paragraph are ridiculous. (says he)

This week has been CBI's Bible Conference. We've been able to make it to most of the sessions and have been blessed by the truths shared from the book of Joshua. Fred Stonehouse is the speaker this year - he and his wife are missionaries with BMW in Scotland. The Lord used their lives and testimony in my heart specifically a few years ago when Jon and I were seeking the Lord's will for our relationship. It was really special to see them here again. And they even remembered us! :) Anne Stonehouse is an amazing cook. She made some scones the other day for break at Conference...they were delicious! (No, don't worry, I didn't eat any. :))
Another blessing is that Arnie is here with us for a few days. He's headed out to the field of Mozambique next month - we're so excited for him and glad to spend time with him before he goes.
And. . . we're painting our house!!! Finally, we decided just to pick colors and go for it! It's been lots of fun. We still have a couple rooms to do, but are having a great time working on it together. The living room/kitchen is two-tone. One color is a rich chocolate brown and the other a lighter rich brown. :) The guest room is totally blue blue, the bathroom will be a red (peach tinted red :)), and our bedroom will be green. Jon has taken upon himself to paint all the trim white - he's so brave! - and that looks stunning with the dark colors on the walls. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to taking pictures of the finished product and posting them for you all to see. . . :)
Well, well, well. Jon just found a stinkbug - one warm day and here they come! Grrrr. :)
There you go! A really quick run down on our days. Really, painting is the big overriding project. But in every detail of our days, we are learning to rejoice in Him. His grace is amazing, His way is perfect, and He is worthy of all our praise!
Thanks for praying for us! :)
ps. the pics are of Brasil, of course. :) The first one is of Jon by the ocean in Fortaleza, the second is a mug shot of us, and the third is some of the youth group in Caucaia. :)
