E Dezembro Chegou

As a pastor said on Sunday, "There are only 29 days left in 2012. Can you believe how quickly the year went by?"

Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere is different... Papai Noel hangs from a parachute on the neighbors porch or scales the outside wall of the churrasqueira. It is kind of hard for reign deer to land on rooftops in the tropics. The vendor in the park has his hammocks strung from tree to tree. When it is 95 with 85% humidity, they look really inviting.

May your holiday season be filled with BBQ and salad, ice cream and sandwiches, anything to not turn on the oven. You start to sweat just thinking about it. Trips to the neighbor's pool for 30 minutes or an hour in the late afternoon are necessary for survival.

Summer plans are feverishly being finalized: vacations, missions trips, VBS, camps and retreats, weddings and graduations, etc.

Just for something different, we are planning to celebrate the new year with tacos, maybe some marshmallows, a bonfire and frisbees. People asked us what we do in the sates: movies, table games, soup, pie and Christmas leftovers. Should be fun.
