November

Springtime lasts a long time here in South Brazil. Actually, the spring and summer growing season is very long. It is a slow news day today and we are excited about these little fellas growing in the front yard.

For those of you who haven't seen it, our green space is about the length of an American football first down and about six yards wide, most of it grass. We wanted to put down roots this time and so we put in a tomato plant and a couple of peppers. There is a little struggling herb garden too with oregano, thyme, basil, cilantro, mint, green onions and parsley. But like I said, it is struggling.

But the tomato is getting big, and so are the peppers, but they take longer. The first two little cherry tomatoes are ripening fast in the late spring heat. They are the first tomatoes we've grown since we lived on cascade road in Hot Springs over five years ago. Here's to flavor!

Like I said, it is a pretty slow news day...
