My Take Part 2

I will begin by saying that I run the risk of overdoing it by posting too many things on the blog in one day. For those of you who are subscribers I apologize for filling up your in box. Most of that can be blamed on the fact that we have good internet access this weekend and are taking advantage of it. However, I did want to add a short little PS to the post "My Take" that was published on Saturday night (November 8th).

A few thoughts about abortion and race:

I want to Denielle and I were talking about the movie "Amazing Grace" this afternoon while we enjoyed the warm fall weather on a Sunday stroll. The movie, for those who haven't watched it, chronicles the story of William Wilberforce who made it his life's goal to abolish the legality of the British human commodity market (that is: slavery). We commented to each other that we are impressed how Mr. Wilberforce invested his entire life into a cause that lived long beyond his fleeting life and whose actions sent shock waves throughout the rest of the earth. He was a remarkable and inspiring man.

Now concerning abortion: I must confess that I have failed to be in the battle for our unborn in any way that I could constitute as a sacrifice. It has not been a war in which I have ever been engaged in any real way yet it continues to be the oppressor of families, fathers and mothers all around this country and the world. I submit that at a time when the world rejoices that this country, whose economic system was once bathed in human blood and sacrifice, has elected as their president one who a mere 150 years ago would not have had the right to vote much less run for office, we all can rejoice that "there is nothing so boring to the American public as skin pigmentation."* And today we must take this renewed chance to boldly proclaim and label abortion for the atrocity that it is: the slavery of our day. God bless those who are on the front lines of this battle.

A side note: I found this video from John Piper who much more eloquently expresses many of the things I was trying to say in "My Take," only he did it the week before the election instead of the week after.

So, I will spare us all a point by point discussion of what he said and let it rest at that. Trust this little rant has fanned the fire of your heart to be on fire for Christ.
