You Heard it Here First

Well, almost first. (Home Assignment Update 010) I didn't want this news to get buried in the details of the last post. We were given the green light to purchase our return tickets and now have flight itineraries reserved for August 30th from Minneapolis. Yeah!!! We have had a remarkable home assignment and enjoyed some really wonderful meetings and reunions. We have been blessed. We came back to the US with some pretty significant challenges on our support and God has continued to raise it. Even this week we learned of a new supporter. Thank the Lord with us!

God's timing is perfect. We think we know what we want, we think we know how to plan and when to prepare for want. But God is the one who directs the course of our lives. We plan and pray about it. We prepare and then submit it to God. He is good and does justly. However, I often must confess that when things don't go according to my thinking and plans, I have a tendency to get discouraged about it, to worry that things won't happen according to my timing. We were to that point at the end of May, wondering what to do, praying about the challenges that were ahead of us and not knowing where we we should turn next. Then June and July came along and God blessed us with some truly remarkable meetings in the last two months. We have been warmly welcomed, cared for and prayed for, just as we needed it most. We have had a great home assignment (see prior paragraph). We are so thankful.

A couple of weeks ago we were in central Kansas. While we have not done as much singing this time around as we have done in the passed, we are thankful for the opportunity to sing when it arises. Having children is an added dynamic. ElliAnna finally agreed to sing with us as we prepared for the days activities. Some friends video taped it and shared it with us. Hope you enjoy it too!

This is the point of the Gospel! We were made to praise the Lord. Sin destroyed that possibility. The Gospel is about restoring that possibility. May God use us to bring His reconciliation to the world.
