Only Him

Yesterday we were driving back from a refreshing afternoon and evening with our friends and fellow missionaries, the Nichols. Caucaia, where the Nichols live and work, is close to a 30 minute drive from our place. God gave us safety and good fellowship as we drove. But about halfway home, the traffic stopped. We and all the other cars were crawling. We wondered what horrible accident had happened up ahead. . .turns out it was just everyone trying to merge into traffic as they left the Catholic church! As we neared the church, we realized it was a work of art - and especially a show of the flesh! The church was white, with a tall steeple and cross at the top. The steeple of the church was lit with lights arranged in the shape of a rosary - and the entire front of the church was ablaze with stained class artwork - streaming with light from the inside. It was a light show! Then, after being struck with that sight and with the sight of all the people leaving that church, we looked to our left . . .and saw this. A statue of Mary - with white skin, blue eyes, fair hair, halo, "crown". We were struck with a new realization of the deception of the Roman Catholic church, and the horrible bondage into which it places its followers. We praise God that we don't need to come to him through any woman or man - only through the Man, Christ Jesus! And through Him we have eternal life by grace through faith alone - for all eternity! It is not maintained by personal effort but only by Him. We praise Him and life HIM high!!

On another note, Saturday was cleaning day this week! We dug out a bunch of boxes from storage, unpacked, repacked, took inventory. Elli had a great time helping us pack the boxes - and playing with the empty containers! :)

Ya I agree whole-heartedly about the Catholic Church. They are used by the devil to lead people away from God. Good to read what is happening with you guys. Take care!
