94% Humidity

Hi everyone!! Wow, Sorry we've not been up to speed on blogging lately! It's taken us the better part of this week to get moved in to our apartment, get settled, unpack, shop for groceries, and sleep. . .much to the suffering of our blogging appointments! Thank you for continuing in prayer for us. We are adjusting - little bits at a time - and are all well. :)
I'll let Jon blog about all the big stuff since he's better at that - I just wanted to share with you some fun little tidbits of what our life is like so far here. Some random facts about daily living. . .

we take an elevator home
cold showers feel good
hot showers feel good when it's raining and not sunny outside
we can feed the 3 of us a full meal for a couple of dollars at the tapiocaida (sp?)
gummy, bland tapiocas are delicious
we rejoice when the sun goes down
traffic noise is becoming irrelevant
washing dishes takes about an hour
McDonalds' burgers are expensive ($6.00)
Subway is here
Burger King is here
McDonalds Cafe and ice cream is here
Pizza Hut is here
Blockbuster is here
WalMart is here
we shower up to 5 times a day
we order drinking water
someone takes the trash out for us
we bought 2 bunches of bananas for about $1.00 last night
hot water doesn't come from the faucet

Yesterday evening we went grocery shopping at a really really nice store called Pao de Acucar (sugar loaf). We took our time and tried to really learn the store. Wow - it's jammed packed full of great stuff!! The produce section is huge. . .and wait until you hear all the stuff they have there. . .

Frozen pizza, fish sticks, french fries, vegetables, chicken nuggets

Yep, we're really starving and wasting away over here suffering. . .. . . .!! Just to give you a snap shot. :)
