Lug nuts, Snow and another Wait Part 1

Having been in Denver, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Duluth, Milwaukee, and Chicago all in the space of three days I feel like my body is permanently conformed to the seat of the minivan.

What an eventful week this has been. We immensely enjoyed a day of races, mini golf and lazer tag on Saturday with the kids from Dix Bible Church. We wrapped up three months of ministry that were enormously prosperous and fruitful and after a tear-filled goodbye to western Nebraska and Jonathan's family we headed down I-80 on Sunday evening. It just so happened to coincide with the first big blast of cold air to hit much of the country. Our minivan has been a tremendous blessing to us over the last two years. We often feel like we have spent more time in that van than we have living in a house in that space of time. We know that God has protected us as we have traveled almost 90,000 miles. Last Sunday that protection become very apparent. A rattling sound started to grow much louder as we drove into the night. Curious and slightly concerned I did a check to see what was the issue and being the novice that I am, I didn't find anything.

A few hours later and it was very obvious that we wouldn't be able to go any further. Being the mechanical ignoramous that I am, I couldn't see the loose lug nuts on the rear passenger tire until we had almost lost the tire traveling down the interstate. What could've been a disaster was secured after a few minutes with a tire wrench. We drove the rest of the way to Northern Minnesota and only ran into snow for the last couple of hours.
