Sitting here tonight with a somewhat sinking feeling in my gut as a result of this response from the Consulate in Chicago (I'd asked them how much time we are looking at for our wait):
"Dear Sir/Madam,
The Brazilian Authorities do not provide such information and they will take the necessary time to analize the whole documentation of the applicants."
Though I was pretty certain this would be the response, I was hoping for a little more help. My fear is that our information, stuck somewhere in between cyberspace and hard copies is sitting on someone's desk. Who knows but our gracious God? We are praying that whomever it is in Brazil who is responsible for our application will not be able to neglect it- though I have no idea if they are anyway . . .
We are enjoying the western Nebraska sky at least for another week. We head for Illinois and BGFM's business meeting this Friday. We are still praying about where to go after Illinois if the answer is still wait on Brazil. Thanks for praying for us.
In the mean time, we are excited for the youth ministry that is getting off the ground this week here in Western Nebraska. We have both commented that we didn't realize how much we missed it. And tomorrow we will celebrate Independance Day with the folks at Dix Bible Church. If you are in the area, feel free to join us for some tasty Brazilian treats, 7:00 PM mountain time.
We are captivated, by grace and holiness. We are motivated by life and love and pursuing Christ,
Jon and Denielle

Good to hear from you. Was praying for you both this morning.
BTW - we celebrate Independence Day in South Dakota on July 4. We understand, though, and cut a lot of slack for Nebraskans!
