We have come to the point now where we are able to talk about Brasil with a certain amount of clarity. We have moved past target dates and goals and now we can begin to talk about specifics. Kind of . . .
When we were last in Springfield, IL (March 28/29) we had an opportunity to talk with our home office staff about potential dates for departure to Brazil. We have surpassed the 80% mark in our monthly support level which means we can get the ball rolling concerning our visas. The major question that remains is how fast that ball actually rolls.
We are now in the process of applying for our temporary visa. When that comes through we will be ready to talk about specific dates and purchase airline tickets.
We are praying about July 9th or 10th (after another important wedding in our family on July 4th). Praise the Lord for what He has done.
We were reminded recently about the goodness of God as He has promised to meet our needs. We communicated with friends who recently took their baby back with them on the mission field, asking questions about how it went to travel with a little baby. Their answer proved a great blessing and reminder as it recalibrated our thinking. Their ansewer: "Just expect God to meet your needs, whatever they are."
We expect and anticipate!

Can't wait!! I'm excited for you. As for traveling with a baby....expect the unexpected and cherish the thought that you get to raise your child on the mission field - it's wonderful!
