No, we're not having an identity crisis - rather, an overwhelming realization of our identity. Tonight as we looked over the scores of gifts we've received this past week and during the past few months. . .clothes, baby items, scrap-booking materials, books, furniture, kitchen supplies, commitments to prayer and financial support, extremely generous hospitality, words and cards and notes of love and encouragement. . .we're overwhelmed.
And we ask ourselves, Who are we? Who are we that we should receive all of these gifts? Who are we that the Lord has chosen to pour upon us far more than we could ever deserve or imagine?
Especially. . .
"Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth should care to know my name?"
"When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars which You have established;
what is man that You are mindful of him,
and the son of man, that You visit him?"
- Psalm 8
