Whew! What a fun couple of weeks of camp. Every year we are reminded of just how special the camping ministry is. The camps that we had opportunities to minister in this summer were very special. We are kind of sorry to see them come to an end. Thanks for praying for us!
Camp REwind
The last two weeks in northern Minnesota were again action packed and full of fun. We both shared some of the speaking load during the first week of camp (junior week) and then Jon was a counselor during the second week (senior week). With chants of "4S, 4S, 4S," still ringing in our ears we pulled out of camp on Friday morning, exhausted, rejoicing, and continuing to pray. We are so thankful for the things that God did in the hearts of many of the boys from cabin 4S last week and pray that the decisions that were made will be lasting decisions impacting them for the rest of their lives.
Current Conditions
We are back in Hot Springs now, still residing in our Pastor's guest bedroom. We are blessed by the special things that God is doing in our lives and we continue to rejoice in His abundance. (Not merely the abundant provision but especially His abundance!) We know very personally the truth that "All things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God." We have heard from so many of you during the last month and a half and you have been so generous to us that it makes our heads spin. We are not the first or the only ones at this time to experience a trial, yet for some reason God has chosen to unleash His blessings upon us.
Decision Time
We are not trying to drag out a decision any longer than we need to but we are still in the process of weighing our options and considering some issues about where we should spend the last several months before we go to Brazil. Who knows, even the time frame for Brazil might change . . . we only know that God sees the end and the beginning and we can only see what is right in front of us. Therefore, we can trust Him though at times things might seem a little crazy and out of wack. This truth brings great comfort and joy as we consider the options that are in front of us.
Thanks so much for praying, thanks for taking the time to be concerned and asking questions. We rejoice that we can entrust our lives and our days to the One who holds the stars in their places.
